Grace Bloomfield Of Astoria Dies

Mrs. Grace Bloomfield, 89, of Astoria, died shortly after noon on Sunday, July 8, 1984, at the Morton Health Care Nursing Home in Morton.

She was born Nov. 27, 1895, in Astoria, a daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Wherley Gruber. She married Otis Bloomfield on Dec. 31, 1914.

Survivors include one son, Jack A. Bloomfield of Mequon, Wis.; two grandsons and one great grandson.

Two brothers and one sister preceded her in death.

Mrs. Bloomfield was a member of the Astoria United Methodist Church. She was a 50-year member of Astoria Chapter No. 144, Order of Eastern Star, and was a Past Matron of that Order.

Eastern Star Services were held at 8 p.m. Monday evening at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon at the Astoria United Methodist Church with Rev. Bruce W. Bolin-Ghitalia officiating. Burial was in the Astoria Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Astoria United Methodist Church.
