She was born Oct. 2, 1935, in Macomb, a daughter of John Harold and Audrey Lucille David Haney. She married Charles Rodney “Rod” Boynton on June 14, 1953, in Rushville. He preceded her in death on July 28, 2020.
Surviving are three daughters, Suzanne McCoy of Canton, Shelly Jane (and James) Johnson of McKinney, Texas, and Carrie Boynton Cadieux of Normal; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Jane Haney Bowcott; and one brother, John David.
She was a homemaker. She was a counselor for other overseas wives, as she became quite fluent in Spanish and Portuguese. She was honored as a Haney family descendant to lead the parade at Erin Feis in Peoria one year and hosted many Haney family reunions.
Funeral services were held Monday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville, followed by a brief graveside service at Vermont Cemetery.
