Betty BowcottBetty Jane Nicholas Bowcott, 76, of Kenosha, Wis., formerly of Rushville, died at 3:40 p.m. May 15, 2013, at Clare Bridge Assisted Living Center in Kenosha.

She was born Jan. 19, 1937, at her parents' home in Industry Township, McDonough County, a daughter of John H. and Audrey Lucille David Haney. She married Theodore James Nicholas. She later married Sidney Bowcott, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are one son, Phillip (and Natacha) Nicholas of Kenosha; one daughter, Gwendolyn Karen Nicholas; one brother, John David (and Linda) Haney of Coulterville; and one sister, Sara A. (and Rod) Boynton of Morton.

She worked as a receptionist for Methodist Hospital in Peoria for many years. Later in life she did elderly home healthcare. After retirement, she took care of her mother until her death.

She was a member of Rushville First United Methodist Church and attended First Christian Church of Kenosha.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Mr. David Haney officiating. Burial will follow in Vermont Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of services.

Memorials may be made to Rushville First United Methodist Church.
