Martin L. ”Marty” Beans, 65, of Macomb, formerly of Astoria, died at 1:36 a.m. Dec. 7, 2020, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
He was born Sept. 1, 1955, in Canton, the son of Amos and Betty Martin Beans. He married Melanie Malott on March 19, 1981, in Dade County, Fla. She survives.
Also surviving are three children, Jason Beans and Jilleesa Beans, both of Macomb, and Jared Beans of Vermont; two sisters, Amy Lou Brillhart of Galesburg and Barbara (and Mike) Hickey of Springfield; and one grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He worked with his dad at Beans and Son Plumbing for several years as a licensed plumber and electrician. He was then employed for Mahoney Foundry in Vermont for over 36 years. He was a volunteer firefighter for Astoria Fire Department when he resided there.
Graveside services were held Friday at Vermont Cemetery in Vermont. Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb was in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Martin Beans Memorial Fund to be used for Starlyn Beans education fund.
