Jeffrey D. Batterton, 47, of Astoria died at 6:40 a.m. Feb. 18, 2019, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born Nov. 10, 1971, in Beardstown, a son of Henry and Melba Cluney Fulscher. He married Twila Groves on Oct. 5, 2002, in Astoria. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Alyssa Batterton, at home; and one son, Jaxson Batterton, at home; his mother, Melba Lindsey of Astoria; one sister, Debbie (and Don) Ulm of Macomb; and two brothers, Brad (and Tina) Batterton and Bill (and Tammy) Batterton, both of Astoria.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Glen Dale Batterton; and grandparents, Darrell and Ferne Cluney.
He worked for Lee Mechanical in Quincy as a pipe fitter.
Services were held Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Ben Murray officiating. Burial was in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Astoria.
Memorials may be made to the Jaxson Batterton education fund or the Astoria Fire Department.
