Joseph BartlowJoseph Allen Bartlow, 67, of Rushville died at 3:15 a.m. Feb. 20, 2018, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

He was born April 9, 1950, in Rushville, a son of William Pard and Margie Ellen Dean Bartlow. He married Michele Kuyat on Sept. 1, 1973, in Chicago.

Surviving are two sons, Zebulon J. Bartlow and Nathan M.J. Bartlow, both of Rushville; one brother, Jeffrey Pard (and Jeanne) Bartlow of New Port Richey, Fla.; one aunt, Nancy Jorgesen of Rushville; two nephews, John and Michael Bartlow; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by one nephew, Jacob Lawler Bartlow.

He was a member of Rushville First United Methodist Church, Rushville Rotary Club, and was a past charter member of the Rushville Lions Club. He also was a member of the Beardstown Elks Lodge #1007.

Graduating from Rushville High School in 1968, he received his bachelors degree from Monmouth College in 1972. He worked for Bartlow Brothers, Inc., A. G. Edwards Company, operated Shiloh Pilot Services and managed the family farm.

Funeral services were held Monday at his church with Rev. Grant Armstrong and Mr. David Haney officiating. Burial was in Palm Cemetery west of Rushville. Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville was in charge of arrangements.
