Margie BartlowMargie Dean Bartlow, 89, of Rushville died at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 25, 2010, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

She was born Sept. 16, 1921, in Bainbridge Township, Schuyler County, a daughter of Homer and Myrtle Griffith Dean. She married William Pard Bartlow on June 30, 1946, in Rushville.

Surviving are two sons, Jeffrey Pard (and Jeanne) Bartlow of Emporia, Kan., and Joseph Alan Bartlow of Rushville; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, Jacob Lawler Bartlow; one brother, Johnnie Dean; and two sisters, Hildreth Orr Rinehart and Atha Bartlett Reeves.

She was a member of Rushville First United Methodist Church, a founding member of PRIDE (Promote Rushville Image, Design, Environment) and PEO Chapter AL.

She was a legal secretary and court reporter for Ernest G. Utter Law Firm (Schuyler County State’s Attorney) for several years before her marriage.

She and her sister-in-law, Nancy Jorgensen, owned and operated Pot Pourri Flowers and Gifts.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at her church with Rev. Steve Pichaske officiating. Burial will follow in Rushville City Cemetery. There will be no formal visitation. Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Rushville First United Methodist Church organ fund or Culbertson Hospital Foundation.
