She was born Aug. 15, 1951, a daughter of Forrest and Mary Dean Beaird in Canton.
Surviving are her mother, Mary Catherine Beaird of Glen Arbor; and one sister, Janis Beaird of Northport, Ala.
She was preceded in death by her father, Forrest D. Beaird on May 10, 2007.
She received a degree in library science and English from Illinois State University. She taught in Astoria, Staunton and Chatham, before earning a masters degree from University of Alabama in 1991.
She continued working as the librarian with Riverside County Library.
Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at Glen Lake Community Reformed Church with Rev. Jack Beaird officiating.
Private graveside committal services will be held in Maple Grove Cemetery at a later date. Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
