She was born Nov. 17, 1923, in rural Summum, a daughter of George and Eva Jones Shawgo. She married Ernest J. Brush on Feb. 4, 1942, in Palmyra, Mo. He died July 2, 1995.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister and people who raised her, Ralph and Ila Walraven.
Surviving are one daughter, Linda (and Paul) May of Lewistown; one son, Gary (and Pat) Brush of Ipava; one half brother, Charles Shawgo of St. David; two half sisters, Thelma Starcevitch and Wilma Long, both of Canton; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; two step grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; and one step great-great-grandchild.
She was a homemaker.
She took in washing and ironing for many years and cleaned houses. She also worked at Lewistown High School cafeteria for 22 years until she retired.
She attended Maples Mills United Methodist Church.
Services were held Tuesday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Reverend Sue Roat officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown.
