Robert ButlerRobert L. Butler, 68, of Astoria died at 6 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2000, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

He was born Oct. 4, 1931, in Peoria, a son of Willard L. and Ruby Wilson Butler. He married Mary Lybarger on Oct. 1, 1950, in Astoria. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Steven (and Pam) of Astoria and Stanley (and Cathy) of Peoria; four grandchildren; his mother of Astoria; and one brother, Ronald of Capetown, South Africa.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He owned and operated Butler 66 Service in Astoria and was co-owner of Locks Inc. in Canton. He retired as a salesman from B&B Motors in Havana.

He was a member of the Professional Sales Guild and American Legion Post 25.

He was an Army veteran.

He was a member of Creve Coeur Community Church in Creve Coeur.

Services were held Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Astoria with Revs. Marian Stone and Brian Culver officiating. Burial was in Astoria Cemetery. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.
