Mary Lou Brown

Mary Lou Brown, 71, of Astoria, died at 10:38 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2000, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle accident on Friday in Fulton County.

She was born March 19, 1928, in Vermont, the daughter of Jack and Vivian Bradley Smith. She married Junior S. Brown on Dec. 21, 1946, in Bushnell. He survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Debby (and Greg) Parker of Browning and DeAnna (and Bill) Jones of Astoria; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Chelsey Jones.

She retired from Astoria Healthcare Center in 1993. Prior to that, she worked for Hornsby's, which became Don's Variety, for 20 years and also worked at the Subway Cafe.

She was a member of the Astoria American Legion Auxiliary.

Services were held Friday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Greg Parker officiating. Burial was in Astoria Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the McDonough District Hospital Hospice Program.
