Vivian M. Smith, 89, of Astoria Health Care Center in Astoria, formerly of Vermont, died at 4:05 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 2, 1998, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
She was born July 30, 1909, in Vermont, the daughter of Dean and Anna Sierer Bradley. She married Jack Smith on Oct. 22, 1930, in Littleton. He died May 20, 1988. One great-grandchild and two brothers also preceded her in death.
Surviving are one daughter, Mary Lou Brown of Astoria; two granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren.
She operated Viv’s Snack Bar in Vermont for many years. She also worked at the Vermont Post Office for 20 years.
Graveside services were held this morning at Vermont Cemetery with Rev. Greg Parker officiating. Kost Memorial Home in Vermont was in charge of arrangements.
