GLENWOOD "DUNK" BINGAMON

Glenwood “Dunk” Bingamon, 65, of Astoria died at 12:06 p.m. Monday, April 13, 1998, at Proctor Hospital in Peoria.

He was born Feb. 21, 1933, in Bluff City, a son of Anna Maye Bingamon. He married Clara Grapevine on Feb. 13, 1959, in Peoria. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Glenn A. Bingamon of Burlingham, N.Y., and Benjamin Bingamon of Astoria; three daughters, Mrs. Carl (Dena) Hartig and Mrs. Ron (Debbie) Patterson, both of Peoria, and Cindy Bingamon of St. Louis, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Jack Bingamon of Haverstraw, N.Y.

He was preceded in death by his mother and one brother.

A member of Teamsters Local #627 of Peoria, he was a truck driver for Interstate Brands for 13 years, retiring in 1996. He was a Navy veteran.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Collis Trone officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Burial will be in Bluff City Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Hickory-Kerton Fire Department.
