Rankin S. Beans Of Vermont Dies

Rankin S. Beans, 60, of Vermont died at 3:45 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 1990, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

He was born Sept. 4, 1929, in Vermont, a son of Amos Theodore and Velma Fern Stephens Beans. He married Mildred M. Litchfield at Macomb April 2, 1960. She survives.

He was an Industrial Engineer at Vermont Foundry for 32 years, a member of the Vermont Christian Church, past president of Kiwanis and member of AF & AM Lodge #116 of Vermont. He was a past village board member, present Vermont Village Treasurer, president of WIRC, member of the Vermont Park Board, member of the Vermont Fire Department and Rescue Squad and president of the Fall Festival Committee.

Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Eric (Stephanie) Ewing of Rushville, Samantha L. Beans of Vermont and Christina M. Beans of Dallas, Texas; one grandchild; and three brothers, Amos L. Beans of Vermont, Phil L. Beans of Joppa, and Roger A. Beans of Highland, Ind.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Vermont Christian Church with Rev. Tim Gilliland officiating. Burial was in the Vermont Cemetery. Kost Memorial Home in Vermont was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Vermont Christian Church, the Vermont Fire and Rescue Squad or the Hospice program at Mason District Hospital.
