HELEN G. (MERRILL) BOO

Helen G. Boo Dies Friday

Mrs. Helen G. Boo, 75, of Mt. Sterling, formerly of Lewistown, died at 1:50 p.m. Friday, July 12, 1974.

She was born Sept. 11, 1898 at Astoria, a daughter of Benjamin R. and Hattie Lieninger Merrill. She married Joseph Boo Nov. 4, 1920 in Fulton County. He died in March of 1934.

Surviving are one son, Max Boo of Lewistown; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Hapke of Peoria and Mrs. Harriet Wolf of Oak Lawn; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three brothers, Charles of Canton, Joe of San Clemente, Calif., and Wendell of Oskaloosa, Iowa; seven sisters, Mrs. Margaret Schriber of Oskaloosa, Iowa, Mrs. Julia Greenub of Colchester, Mrs. Clara Toland and Mrs. Kathryn Pollich, both of Macomb, Mrs. Lucille James of Garden Grove, Calif., Mrs. Charolette Bolender of Denver, Colo. and Miss Belle Merrill of East Tawas, Mich.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter and two sisters.

She was retired from the Fulton County office of Illinois Public Aid. For the past nine years she owned and operated the Mount Sterling Shelter Care Home.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Henry Funeral Home in Lewistown with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery there.
