Mrs. Fern Boggs Accident Victim

A 50-year-old Havana woman who had been unconscious since an auto accident early Dec. 12 died Monday at St. Francis Hospital, Peoria.

She was Mrs. Thomas I. (Fern C.) Boggs of 1002 S. 11th St.

Mason County sheriff’s deputies investigated and said Mrs. Boggs was alone in her car headed east on a blacktop road near Easton and about 13 miles east of Havana. They said her car apparently skidded in gravel and went into a ditch.

She was unconscious when found. She was first taken to Mason District Hospital in Havana and later that day to St. Francis.

Services were held today in First Baptist Church with burial in Laurel Hill Cemetery.

She was born in Fulton County Feb. 27, 1920, a daughter of Earl and Ethel Hendee Gorsuch. She married Thomas Boggs in Palmyra, Mo., Dec. 2, 1939. He survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Linda Woodard, and one son, Thomas, both of Havana; two grandchildren; two brothers, Leonard of Astoria and Earl of Ipava; one sister, Mrs. Beulah Belville; five half brothers, Gary, Terry and Larry, all of Havana, Norman of Summum and Robert of Peoria, and two half sisters, Mrs. Karen Harper and Miss Sandra Gorsuch, both of Havana.
