John William Baumgardner, 83, retired farmer of Vermont, died at his residence there Saturday following a long illness. He was born in Scotland township, in 1877, to John and Delina Baldock Baumgardner. In 1906 he married Stella Dye who survives.
Other survivors include nine children, James and Wallace of Vermont, Walter of Round Lake, John, Maurice and George of Galesburg, Mrs. Bertha Fail of Oak Hill, Catherine Thurman of Rock Island, Betty Cigan of Jim Falls, Wis. Thirty-one grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and two sisters also survive.
Mr. Baumgardner was a member of the Assembly of God church. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Kost Memorial Home in Vermont with burial in the Vermont cemetery.
