Vermont Woman Dies In Nursing Home

Mrs. Olive Jane Brockley, 83, former Vermont resident, died Sunday morning in the Briggs Nursing Home, Ipava, where she had resided for several months.

Born Aug. 27, 1869, near Meredosia, a daughter of Richard and Jane (Conely) Standley, she was married in 1887 to Thareus Brockley, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Lena Knight and Mrs. Bessie Rasmussen, both of Moline; Mrs. Elsie Hollingsworth, Sunland, Calif., Mrs. Leska Atwater, Ipava, and Mrs. Lucille Pobang, Rock Island; two sons, Charles Brockley, Galesburg, and Richard Brockley, Rock Island, and two sisters, Mrs. Arvilla Broadman, Talent, Ore., and Mrs. Mary Wicher, Beaverton, Ore. Two daughters preceded her in death.

Mrs. Brockley was a member of the Methodist church.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Vermont Christian church by the Rev. H. D. Simmons. Burial in Salem cemetery.
