Richard Brockley Of Ipava Dies

Richard BrockleyRichard W. Brockley, 85, of 1604 Tanglefoot Lane, Bettendorf, Iowa, died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 1988, at the Bettendorf Healthcare Center.

He was born June 27, 1903, in Vermont. He married Mabel Holcomb June 5, 1924. She died in 1976. He married Guinevere Snow Feb. 14, 1979, in Rock Island.

He retired in 1966 from the traffic department after 20 years at Deere & Co., Moline. Before that, he worked 26 years as a ticket agent for the CB&Q Railroad in the Galesburg and Rock Island areas. He was a member of the Bettendorf Christian Church.

Survivors include the widow; 2 stepdaughters, Marjorie Hicks of Davenport, Beverly Nelson of Missoula, Mont., and Guinevere Forsythe of Bettendorf; 10 step-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren; and 4 sisters, Lena Knight of Geneseo, Leska Atwater of Ipava, Lucille Pobanz of Moline, and Elsie Hollingsworth of Sherman Oaks, Calif.

Funeral services were held on Friday, Dec. 9, at 10 a.m. at Knox-Larson Funeral Home in Rock Island. Burial was in Greenview Memorial Gardens in Silvis.
