E. Leska Atwater, 90, of Astoria, formerly of Ipava, died at 10:24 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at Astoria Manor.
She was born June 15, 1911, in Ellington, Mo., a daughter of Thaddeus and Olive Stanley Brockley. She married Dwight Atwater on Dec. 24, 1932, in Ipava. He survives.
Also surviving are a son, Charles (and Sandra) of Galesburg; a daughter, Nancy Kleiner of Macomb; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by six sisters and two brothers.
She was a schoolteacher in Ipava and Banner, retiring in 1972 after teaching 35 years.
She was a member of Ipava Presbyterian Church.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 31, at Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava with Pastor Kevin Kessler officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Ipava Cemetery.
