Edward Benton Passes Away Monday Morning

An Invalid Ten Years; Funeral Service Friday, Methodist Church

Edward Benton, well known here, died Monday morning at his home in Summum, following a long illness. About ten years ago he suffered a paralytic stroke and since that time he has been an invalid.

Mr. Benton was born September 13, 1888 at Browning, the son of Henry and Maggie Bair Benton. He was united in marriage to Dollie Wright of Summum, and to this union two children were born, Mrs. Nellie Stremmel of San Bernardino, Calif., and Willard Benton of Peoria, both of whom with their mother, survive. He is also survived by one brother, George Benton of Astoria, and a sister, Mrs. Alva Camp of Summum.

Mr. Benton was engaged in the trucking business in Astoria up until he was afflicted.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Methodist church, Astoria, conducted by Rev. H. Sheldon Pattison. Interment will be made in the Astoria cemetery.
