Mrs. Dollie C. Benton, 68, of Peoria, passed away at the St. Francis hospital in that city, Monday night, where she had been confined since Dec. 12. She had been in failing health for quite some time.
She was born in Kerton township, Jan. 15, 1884, a daughter of Lewis and Harriett Murray Wright. On Jan. 9, 1909, she was united in marriage to Ed Benton of Astoria. To this union two children were born. They lived in Astoria for a number of years. Mr. Benton passed away on March 20, 1944. About eight years ago she moved to Peoria, where she has since resided.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Nellie Stremmel of San Bernardino, Calif., a son, Willard, who lived with his mother; also three brothers, John Wright of San Francisco, Calif., Logan Wright of Canton, and Arleigh Wright of Astoria.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Cline Horton home, conducted by Rev. Fred Thompson of Astoria. Burial in the Astoria cemetery.
