Isaac H. Bucher, A Highly Respected Farmer of Woodland Township Died Saturday Morning; Funeral Held Tuesday

The many friends of Isaac H. Bucher of Woodland township were greatly shocked and grieved to learn of his death, which occurred Saturday morning at 7 o’clock at the age of 47 years, 7 months and 17 days. Death was due to pneumonia following influenza.

Isaac Horst Bucher, son of Jacob and Franey Bucher, was born in Lebanon county, Pa., on June 8, 1871. He was united in marriage to Lydia Bucher Dec. 28, 1901 and to them were born six children, five of who survive. They are: Caleb, aged 16 years, Allen, aged 14, Isaac, aged 12, Irvin, aged 11 and Annabel, aged 9. Minerva, an infant, preceded him.

He leaves to mourn his death besides his wife and children, two brothers, Caleb Bucher of Philadelphia and Jonas of Lebanon county, Pa., and two sisters, Miss Fannie Bucher of Lebanon, Pa., and Mrs. Susan Haffer, of Palmyra, Pa., and a host of relatives and friends.

The deceased united with the Church of the Brethren Sept. 24, 1909, during a revival held by Elder Geo. W. Miller of Laplace and has lived a faithful member until the Lord saw fit to take him home.

Isaac was industrious and successful farmer of Woodland township, a man of reserve judgment and loved and respected by all who knew him and his passing away is deeply deplored by all. He will not only be missed in the home, but in the community as well.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 10 o’clock, at the home conducted by Elder Chas. Walters and assisted by Elder S. S. Blough. Interment in Astoria cemetery.
