RUTH M. (McFETRIDGE) ALLMAN

Ruth Allman

Ruth M. Allman, 80, of Astoria died at 5:55 p.m. Monday, June 7, 2004, at Astoria Gardens & Rehab Center.

She was born June 12, 1923, in Astoria, a daughter of Curry H. "Curt" and Julia E. (Sears) McFetridge. She married Jesse L. Allman in January 1942 in Kahoka, Mo. He died July 19, 2002.

She also was preceded in death by one son, Henry "Butch" Allman; one brother, Gene McFetridge; and three sisters, Helen McFetridge, Charlotte Jessup and Eleanor Endres.

Surviving are two daughters, Judy (and Dave) Law of Astoria and Leona LaForett of Thornton, Colo.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harry (and Mary) McFetridge of Prairie City and Bernard (and Joan) McFetridge of St. Augustine; and two sisters, Alice (and Norman "Pete") Genseal of Beardstown and Vernice (and Dennis) Sloan of Phoenix, Ariz.

She did office work in Alton and later worked for Astoria Fibra-Steel Co.

She was a member of Ladies of the Moose Lodge in Beardstown.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Don Hightower officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the memorial home. Burial will be in Astoria Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Astoria Gardens & Rehab Center.
