ALICE ELAINE (McFETRIDGE) GENSEAL

Alice Genseal

Alice Elaine Genseal, 75, of Beardstown died June 16, 2006, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

She was born Nov. 7, 1930, in Astoria, a daughter of Curtis and Julia Sears McFetridge. She married Norman Lee "Pete" Genseal in August 1950. He survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Michael Joe (and Janet) and Gregory Alan, both of Beardstown; two brothers, Harry (and Mary) McFetridge of Prairie City and Bernard (and JoAnn) McFetridge of St. Augustine; one sister, Vernice (and Dennis) Sloan of Phoenix; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Cynthia, in infancy; one brother, Gene McFetridge; and four sisters, Helen McFetridge, Charlotte Jessup, Eleanor Endres and Ruth Allman.

She graduated from Astoria High School in 1947. She was employed by the City of Beardstown as a meter maid and worked for Classic Fabrices and Woolworth's Five and Dime Store, both in Beardstown.

She was a member of the Guthrie-Pierce VFW Post 1239 Ladies Auxiliary in Beardstown.

Graveside services were held June 20 at Beardstown City Cemetery. Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown was in charge of arrangements.
