Ruby Adams

Ruby D. Adams, 69, of Vermont, died at 7:40 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, 1995, at Snyder’s Vaughn-Haven Nursing Home in Rushville.

She was born Dec. 28, 1925, in Wayne County, a daughter of Roy and Lura Mae Leathers Clark. She married Virgil Young. She later married Orville Adams. He preceded her in death, as did one sister, one brother and one stepchild.

Surviving are one son, Curtis Young of Anchorage, Alaska; three stepchildren, Ben Bigard of Durand, Mich., Mildred Shatraw of Anchorage and Peggy Neff of Tacoma, Wash.; three sisters, Marjorie Wherley of Table Grove, Barbara McCarty of Adair and Peggy Elliott of Collinsville; two brothers, Bill Palmer of Rushville and Dan Palmer of Ohio; five grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren.

She was a department supervisor at Lincoln State School in Lincoln.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Steve Rutter officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery in Charleston.
