She was born Dec. 1, 1932, in Table Grove, a daughter of Daniel Everett and Lura Mae Leathers Palmer. She married John D. McCarty on Aug. 5, 1950, in Canton. He preceded her in death on Oct. 24, 2003.
She also was preceded in death by one son, Ricky Alan McCarty; and one daughter, Margo Fayette Maloney.
Surviving are four children, David Eugene McCarty and Monte Robert McCarty, both of Macomb, Daniel Kim (and Pegi) McCarty of Adair and Linda Lee Kaffer of Bushnell; three siblings, Dannie (and Joyce) Palmer of Ipava, Billie (and Joyce) Palmer of Rushville and Peg Elliot of Saint Louis, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the Martin-Hollis Funeral Home in Bushnell. Immediately following graveside services will be held in the Bushnell Township Cemetery with Pastor Jim Eddy officiating.
