Mrs. Elsie Ruth Abernathy, 86, of Table Grove died at 9:35 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 12, 1981, at McDonough District Hospital.
She was born April 12, 1895, in Camden, the daughter of Nicholas and Trissy Ellen Edwards Notson. She married Ezra Leslie Abernathy Nov. 5, 1914, in Lewistown. He preceded her in death Feb. 25, 1963.
She was a member of the Table Grove Christian Church and Table Grove Legion Auxiliary.
Surviving are one son, James of Vermont; three daughters, Mrs. Betty Brooks of Meredosia; Mrs. Helen Harris of Pekin and Mrs. Shirley Kessler of Table Grove; 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Funeral services will be this afternoon (Wednesday) at 2 p.m. at Kost Memorial Home in Vermont with Rev. Dan Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Harris Cemetery at Table Grove.
