Howard Bartlow

Howard BartlowHoward Bane Bartlow, 74, of Rushville died Dec. 15, 2025, at Martin Health Center in Bloomington.

He was born Jan. 30, 1951, in Rushville, the son of Robert E. “Ted” Bartlow and Gwendolyn I. (Bane) Bartlow and was a lifetime Rushville resident.

Surviving are one sister, Jane Bartlow McMillan (and John) of Augusta; three nephews, David H. (and Jessica) McMillan of Takoma Park, Md., Collin B. (and Margaret) McMillan of South Bend, Ind., and Michael W. McMillan of Philadelphia, Pa.; and two grandnephews and two grandnieces.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother.

He graduated from Rushville High School in 1969. He attended Robert Morris College, where he received an Associate Degree in General Studies in 1971, and graduated from Monmouth College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1973.

Working at Bartlow Brothers, Inc. (“Korn Top”) for many years, he was a very talented and respected cattle buyer, who knew the farming community well.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Rushville, serving on several church boards in previous years. He was a past member of the Rotary Club in Rushville.

Funeral services will be held at noon Dec. 29 at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Stacy Tomich officiating. Burial will be at Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
