Ann Mitchell
She was born May 3, 1957, in Rushville, a daughter of Ernest and Jeannine Powell Shanks. She married Willard Wayne Mitchell on June 24, 1988, in Bernadotte. He preceded her in death on Feb. 12, 2005. She later married Carl “Bill” Burnham on Dec. 13, 2014. He preceded her in death on Dec. 28, 2022. She also was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Georgia Ann Duckwiler; and one brother, Duane Shanks. Surviving are one son, Mylo (and Amanda) Mitchell of Peoria; one daughter, Cheyenne (and Craig) Barnett of Astoria; three sisters, Vicky (and Dean) Conway, Roberta (and Chris) McCormick and Phyllis (and Rick) Batterton, all of Astoria; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She graduated from Spoon River College as a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked at several area nursing homes. She was a member of the “Country Duo” band. Services were held Friday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Kevin Kessler officiating. Burial was in the Woodland Cemetery in Astoria. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
