Marion Zeisset

Marion N. Zeisset, 70, of Astoria died June 5, 2018, at Four Fountains Nursing Home in Belleville.

She was born Oct. 27, 1947, in Breese, a daughter of Edward and Marion nee Eaton Zeisset.

Surviving are three brothers, Michael L. (and June) Zeisset of Belleville, Richard W. (and Judy) Zeisset of Granite City and Thomas M. (and Diane) Zeisset of Mascoutah; one sister, Catherine A. (and Warren) Fisher of Saint Jacob; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Lawrence Zeisset; her mother, Marion N. Zeisset nee Eaton; and two brothers, Jerome E. Zeisset and Kenneth L. Zeisset.

She was born in Breese and lived in Trenton. At age 6, her family moved to Quercus Grove in Madison County. She graduated from Edwardsville High School in 1965. She earned a bachelors degree in teaching from McKendree College. She also had degrees from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville in music and special education. She was an elementary teacher in Hardin and Astoria. She retired in 2007.

She was a member of Sheldons Grove Methodist Church. She also was a member of American Legion Auxiliary in Ipava.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Dauderman Mortuary in Alhambra with Rev. Richard Smallie officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Dauderman Mortuary in Alhambra. Private burial will be at Quercus Grove Cemetery in Edwardsville.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or Heifer International (Charity for Ending Poverty and Hunger).
