Robert YounkerRobert Owen Younker, 88, of Camden died at 2:50 a.m. June 17, 2018, at Heritage Manor Health and Rehabilitation Center in Mount Sterling.

He was born Nov. 21, 1929, in Edinburg, a son of Glenn Albert and Ada Hurrelbrink Younker. He married Stella “Maxine” Ulery on May 19, 1962, in Denver-Miami County, Ind. She preceded him in death on Aug. 15, 2010.

He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn Allen Younker and Gale H. Younker; and two sisters, Doris Jean Swope and Norma H. Fountain.

Surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

He had a bachelors degree in music from James Millikin University.

He was an Army Veteran serving during the Korean War.

He worked for Dage Corporation. He also worked with several Rushville businesses. He retired as the morning clerk at Casey’s.

He attended Friendship Primitive Baptist Church in Winchester. He was a life member of the John Birch Society.

Funeral services were held Thursday at the Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Elder Jim Ridings officiating. Burial was in the Stoneking Cemetery in McDonough County. Graveside military services were conducted by a U.S. Army Honors Detail and Schuyler American Legion Post #4.

Memorials may be made to Zoar Primitive Baptist Church in Mattoon or Smyrna Primitive Baptist Church in Bentley.
