David Riley Young, 66, of Rushville, died at 7:07 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 1996, at the Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

He was born Dec. 5, 1929, in Oakland Township, Schuyler County, a son of Benjamin H. and Goldie Evans Young.

Surviving are four sisters, Louise Zeisler of Lewistown, Lois Gossage of Rushville, Frances Faxon of Palmyra, Mo., and Ruth Lashbrook of Rushville; one brother, John Young of Ripley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Mary E. Zeisler and Anna Belle Young, and one brother, Bennie Young Jr.

He was an Army veteran during the Korean Conflict, serving in Germany. He was a construction worker by trade, always ready to lend a helping hand when needed. He retired due to ill health in 1985. He also was a member of Voiture #1100 40 & 8.

Graveside services were held Saturday at the Palm Cemetery west of Rushville with David Haney officiating. Graveside military services were conducted by Schuyler American Legion Post #4.

Memorials may be given to the donor’s choice.

Worthington Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
