Julia I. Yancey, 78, of Morton, formerly of East Peoria and Loraine, died at 11 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, 1995, at Rosewood Care Center in East Peoria.
She was born March 19, 1916, in Sullivan, the daughter of Sylvester and Marlida Prichard Locke. She married John W. Yancey on Nov. 13, 1932, in Marshall. He died July 14, 1989. One son, Leon, one brother, and two sisters also preceded her in death.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Paul (Flossie) Morris of Rushville; two sons, John W. of Groveland and Charlie D. of Escondido, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Groveland Missionary Church.
Funeral services were held Saturday with Rev. G. Robert Magary officiating. Graveside services were held Sunday at Beardstown City Cemetery in Beardstown.

Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville was in charge of arrangements.
