Norma Jean Dutton Lofton Williams, 88, of Havana died on the morning of April 8, 2026, at her home from natural causes.
She was born May 25, 1937, in Astoria, a daughter of John and Esther Baum Dutton of Bluff City.
Surviving family members are Pamela (and Steve) Burget of Astoria; one daughter, Krista (and Jeff) Wilcoxen of Easton; one son, Jonathan (and Amy) Williams of St. Louis, Mo.; several grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth Lofton; one daughter, Kendra Lofton Adams; her second husband, John L. Williams; and one sister, Dorothy Weaver.
She was a graduate of Rushville High School in 1955. She received her CNA license from Spoon River College. After she graduated from high school she began working at the Illinois Secretary of State until her first daughter was born. For several years she was a stay home mother and housewife. Later in life she worked for the Mason County Health Department, Home Health Care Division, until she retired.
She was a lifelong Christian who was a member of the Havana Southern Baptist Church. For a time she attended the Grace Baptist Church. In her younger years, she was also a member of the Eastern Star.
She was a church choir leader for several years.
Graveside services were held Friday, April 10, at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Hurley Funeral Home in Havana was in charge of arrangements.
