Carroll Wickert of Hanford, Calif., died Oct. 11, 2025, at the age of 85.
He was born May 30, 1940 in Lewistown, a son of Ronal and Violet Wickert and grew up in Astoria.
Surviving are his wife, Dona; two sons, Dr. Brian (and Jane) Wickert and Steven (and Irene) Wickert; one stepson, John Riggs; one stepdaughter, Ruth (and Dave) Moline; two brothers, Dean (and Carol) Wickert and Quentin (and Diane) Wickert; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Marilyn; two brothers, Roy and Dennis; and one sister, Glenna Wickert.
He graduated from Astoria High School in 1958 and soon after proudly enlisted in the United States Navy.
While stationed at Lemoore Naval Air Station in California, he met Marilyn Weisser, and the two were married shortly after his discharge in November 1962. They shared 45 years together until her passing. Later in life, he married Dona Hofer Burson.
He dedicated 32 years of hard work to Pirelli/Armstrong Tire Company, where he built lifelong friendships and earned the respect of his colleagues.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, at Salser and Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave., Visalia. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 3, at Grangeville Cemetery, 10428 14th Ave., Armona.
