Joe WilsonJoseph A. “Joe” Wilson, 63, of Cuba died Jan. 25, 2024, at his home surrounded by family.

He was born Jan. 29, 1960, in Canton, a son of Thomas J. and Virginia L. Lafary Wilson.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving are two children, Cody Wilson of Canton and Katie (and Justin) King of Galesburg; one brother, Ed Wilson of Delavan, one sister, Cindy (and Jerry) Buchen of Cuba; and two granddaughters, Rylee Wilson and Oaklie King.

He was a farmer and worked for Thermogas. He then joined the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office as a Deputy and was their DARE Officer retiring after 22 years. He worked at the Ipava State Bank for a while after retirement from the Sheriff’s Office. He had attended Brock United Methodist Church in Smithfield.He was a member of the Spoon River Valley FOP Lodge 427.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Jan. 31 at the Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba with Pastor Ellen Dodd officiating. Burial will be in Baughman Cemetery in Smithfield.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude or Fulton County Humane Society.
