She was born May 19, 1941, in Canton, a daughter of Raymond and Bernadine Cooper Heffren. She first married James Harris. She later married James Wickert on April 1, 1985, in Lewistown.
Surviving are two sons, Jefferey (and Lita) Harris of Matanza Beach and James “Scott” (and Mo) Harris of Galva; two stepdaughters, Becky (and Montie) Wilcoxen and Shellie (and Perri) Green, both of Canton; one sister, Kathy Lynn (and Steve) Haffner; 13 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Heffren.
She grew up in Summum and attended Lewistown schools, graduating in 1959. She earned her LPN nursing degree from Spoon River College in 1983 at age 42. She worked for 20 years as a nurse at Sunset Manor in Canton.
She was a member of First Christian Church of Canton. She was Corresponding Secretary for the Fulton County Historical and Genealogical Society.
A funeral service was held Monday at her church. Burial was in Apple Cemetery in rural Lewistown. Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown was in charge of arrangements.
