Elizabeth WelchElizabeth C. Welch, 102, of rural Lewistown died Aug. 19, 2018, at Clayberg Fulton County Nursing Center in Cuba.

She was born Aug. 11, 1916, the daughter of Elza and Eula Pratt Chipman in rural Lewistown. She married Fay Welch on Feb. 11, 1939. He preceded her in death on Feb. 3, 2006.

She also was preceded in death by one son, Donald Welch; and two brothers, Chester Chipman and Ray Chipman.

Surviving are two children, Marie (and Stephen) Wickert and Barbara Welch of Lewistown; two grandchildren, Brian (and Cara) Wickert and Michelle (and Mike) Barclay of Lewistown; and five great-grandchildren.

She graduated from Lewistown Community High School in 1934 and worked at Caterpillar in Peoria as an office assistant until she married Fay. They lived and worked in Peoria until 1949 when they moved back to Lewistown to farm full time.

She was a homemaker.

She attended First Presbyterian Church in Lewistown, and was a member of Fulton County Farm Bureau and past member of the Senior Women’s Club and the Lewistown High School Alumni Association.

Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday at the Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the memorial home.

Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Lewistown.
