Ruby WeishaarRuby Elizabeth Weishaar, 78, of Rushville died at 8:30 p.m. Feb. 7, 2017, at St. John’s Hospice in Springfield.

She was born Nov. 9, 1938, in Beardstown, a daughter of John and Gwendolyn Coil Lawson. She married James R. Weishaar on June 11, 1955, in Beardstown. He survives.

Also surviving are one son, Jimmy Dale (and Barbara) Weishaar of Virginia; two daughters, Brenda Sue Weishaar and Pamela Dee (and Phillip) McNeely, both of Rushville; one sister, Rethyle Woods of Rushville; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, Cody James Weishaar; nine sisters, Doris Jean, Catherine, and another baby who died in infancy, Evalyn Stinson, Gladys Stinson, Bernadine Lowe, Roberta Hull, Vera Reeder and Velda Baker; and two brothers, John Lawson, Jr. and Robert Lawson.

She graduated from eighth grade in 1954 and received her GED in 1984. She earned her CNA Certificate in 1994. She worked as a CNA at Boyd’s Nursing Home, Elmwood Nursing Home, Debbie Fuqua’s Daycare and at St. Luke’s/Heritage Manor before retiring in 1997.

She attended Beardstown Assembly of God Church, the Rushville Church of the Nazarene and Bader Christian Church.

Funeral services were held Saturday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Matt Haberman officiating. Burial was in Browning Cemetery.
