Alberta M. Walton, 75, of Canton died at 12:25 p.m. June 17, 2016, at Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Canton.
She was born Jan. 1, 1941, in Lewistown, a daughter of Samuel and Henrietta Buley Switzer. She married John Walton on April 12, 1961, in Lewistown. He preceded her in death on April 30, 1974.
She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Edith Ann Walton; three sisters, Pearl Walker, Ethel Lojack and Alice Jenkins; and two brothers, Earl Switzer and Roy Switzer.
Surviving are two sons, Michael Walton of Beardstown and John (and Mellissa) Walton of Canton; one daughter, Cindy (and Alan) Shuman of Beardstown; two sisters, Midge Green and Jennie Switzer, both of Canton; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was a homemaker and worked as a janitor and in the kitchen at FCRC.
She was a member of Church of the Nazarene in Astoria, the Salvation Army in Canton and the Home League.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Astoria Cemetery with Pastor Stephen Bounds officiating. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.
