Dale Warner, 92, of Monticello died at 6:05 a.m. Jan. 1, 2016, at his residence.

He was born March 13, 1923, in Summum, a son of William Clarence and Mary Elizabeth Walters Warner. He married Betty Jene Conner on July 4, 1944, in Ipava. She preceded him in death.

He also was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Surviving are one daughter, Kathy (and Ron) Miller of Monticello; one son, James (and Marilyn) Warner of Creal Springs; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He served in the Army Air Corp. during World War II as Captain where he was a member of the 465th Bomb Squadron that flew B-24 Liberators while stationed in Pantanella, Italy. He went to work for the Pan American Airways in California after the war. Upon retirement working for 33 years with the Civil Aeronautics Authority, later known as the Federal Aviation Administration/FAA, he and Betty traveled abroad.

A Military Honor Guard will be held at the Monticello Township Cemetery at 11 a.m. Jan. 16, 2016. Mackey-Wright Funeral Home in Monticello is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post 1015 of Monticello.
