Geraldyne Hoover

Geraldyne Hoover, 91, of Bolingbrook, formerly of Astoria, died at 6:05 a.m. Monday, Sept. 6, 1999, at Lexington Square Health Care Center in Lombard.

She was born July 1, 1908, in Ipava, the daughter of William C. and Mary E. Walters Warner. She married Cecil Hoover on Aug. 29, 1926, in Summum. He died Feb. 10, 1983.

Also preceding her in death were one son, Charles, two brothers and four grandchildren.

Surviving are five sons, Rodney (Wilma) of Hudson, Norman (Jean) of Henry, Gerald (Barb) of Tulsa, Okla., Larry (Mavis) of Kingston and Jay (Joy) of Ft. Worth, Texas; six daughters, Leona (John) Baker of Ft. Worth, Joanne (Robert) Politsch of Mendota, Celia (Gilbert) Haub of West Brooklynn, Emily (Elmer) Anderson of Bolingbrook, Bonnie (Michael) Hunt of Lombard and Patricia (Lowell) Pfoutz of Plano, Texas; one brother, Dale Warner of Monticello; 25 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She worked for United Airlines Food Service at O’Hare Airport in Chicago from 1959 until retiring in 1973.

She was a former member of the Woodland Church of the Brethren in Astoria.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Shawgo Memorial Home with Rev. Vernon Dean officiating. Visitation will be 1 1/2 hours before services at the memorial home. Cremation will be accorded. Burial of the ashes will be in Woodland Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Woodland Church of the Brethren.
