Steven Wickert

Steven Michael Wickert, 36, of Tempe, Ariz., formerly of Ipava, died at 12:21 a.m. Dec. 11, 2015, at Banner University Medical Center in Tuscon, Ariz.

He was born May 24, 1979, in Macomb, the son of Michael and Susan Coons Wickert.

Surviving are his parents of Macomb; two sisters, Tammy (and Jon) Corkery of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Crystal Soule of Macomb; maternal grandmother, Barbara Coons of Abingdon; paternal grandmother, Patricia Calvert of Rushville; one nephew; and one niece.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Glenn Coons; paternal grandfather, Don Wickert; and one aunt, Glenna West.

He was a graduate of VIT High School in Table Grove. He was a member of the Arizona National Guard, entering in 2007. He was a member of the Bushmasters HHC1 158th Infantry in Phoenix, Ariz., obtaining the rank of E-7 Sergeant. He worked as an electrician in the Tuscon area.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Ipava Presbyterian Church. Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery in Macomb.

Memorials may be made to the Steven Wickert Memorial Fund to be used for the Gemini Mission Church Camp.
