Doris M. West, 84, of Goodfield died July 15, 2009, at her home.
She was born Jan. 7, 1925, in rural Astoria, a daughter of Jake and Julia Hess Schisler. She married Robert West. He preceded her in death in November, 1982.
Surviving are two sons, Lowell (and Ruth) West of Elizabethtown, Pa., and Michael (and Pamela) West of Fort Wayne, Ind., one sister, Margaret Wickert of Astoria; one brother, Bill (and Virginia) Schisler of Princeton; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She taught school at Astoria and Deer Creek for 29 years.
She was an active member of Peoria Church of the Brethren, and several clubs including National Angel Club.
Services were held July 25 at the funeral home in Eureka. Burial was in Mount Zion Cemetery in Deer Creek.
Memorials may be made to Heifer Project started by her husband’s grandfather or her church.
