William Schisler

William E. Schisler, 84, of Princeton, formerly of Manlius, died at 2:45 p.m. June 6, 2013, at Morrison Community Hospital.

He was born Aug. 29, 1928, in Astoria Township, Fulton County, the son of Jacob E. and Julia A. Hess Schisler. He married Virginia E. Easley on Aug. 21, 1949, in Springfield. She preceded him in death on Jan. 12, 2013.

He also was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris West and Margaret Scrogum-Wickert.

Surviving are two sons, Craig Schisler of Polo and Kevin Schisler of Morrison; and two grandchildren.

He graduated from Astoria High School in 1946.

He was a lifetime farmer, retiring in 1994.

He was a member of Grace United Brethren Church in Manlius and Bureau County Farm Bureau.

He was in the Army, Cpl in Korean Conflict.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton with Rev. Jeff McIlrath officiating. Burial will be in Manlius Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with military rites conducted by Princeton American Legion #125.
