EVA M. (LYBARGER) WELKER

Eva Welker

Eva M. Welker, 83, of Astoria, died at 3:10 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, 1998, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

She was born Feb. 12, 1915, in Vermont Township, Fulton County, the daughter of Frank and Anna Easley Lybarger. She married Bruce G. Welker on June 17, 1933, in Astoria. He died March 9, 1986. One son, John, and one grandson also preceded her in death.

Surviving are three sons, Raymond of Vero Beach, Fla., Franklin of Princeville and Allen of Vermont; four daughters, Anna Maye Fouts of Ipava, Judy Hopkins of Astoria, Norma Holmes of East Peoria and Brenda Heath of Urbana, Ohio; 23 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was a dietician at Mason District Hospital in Havana and worked in the deli at Havana IGA. She volunteered at South Fulton Senior Citizens Center.

Services were held Monday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Tim Worstell officiating. Burial was in Astoria Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Astoria Rescue Squad or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
