George E. Waters, 84, of Table Grove, died Monday, Dec. 23, 1996, at his residence.
He was born on Oct. 23, 1912, in McDonough County, a son of George E. and Bertha Brown Waters. He married Gayle E. Hardisty on Oct. 12, 1932. She died Jan. 23, 1993. He was also preceded in death by one son, George Guy Waters, one brother, Claire and one sister, Lucille Butterfield.
Surviving are one son, Larry Waters of Table Grove; three grandsons, Bill Waters, Mike Waters, Gary Ames; one great-grandson, Jesse Ames; and one brother, John D. Waters of Lynn Haven, Fla.
He worked at Camp Ellis, owned and operated Busy Bee Construction Co. and Maxwell & Waters Plumbing Co., and served as a trustee on the Harris Cemetery Board. He was a farmer.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Kost Memorial Home in Vermont with Rev. Howard Self officiating. Burial will be in the Harris Cemetery near Table Grove. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Kost’s.
