Howard Ward Of Peoria Dies

Howard W. Ward, 74, of 2613 N. Missouri Ave., Peoria, died at 7:25 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, 1988, at his residence.

He was born July 18, 1913, in Summum, a son of Ernest and Ora Gilson Ward. He married Verna L. Gilson on July 3, 1936, in Rushville. She survives.

Also surviving are one brother, Shelby Ward and one sister, Ardis Jett, both of Canton.

He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

He had been employed in the Shipping and Receiving Department at Montgomery Ward for many years, retiring in 1968. He was a World War II Army veteran.

Funeral services were held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Wilton Mortuary with Rev. James M. Sandy officiating. Burial was in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
