Virgie Williams Dies At Age 94

Mrs. Virgie A. Williams, 94, formerly of 805 S. Coleman, Havana, died at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, 1980, in the Astoria Care Center, where she had been residing for several years.

Mrs. Williams had 102 descendants, 94 of whom survive.

She was born June 25, 1885, in Petersburg, a daughter of Levi and Mary (Wiseman) Hines. She married Marshall Williams on Feb. 5, 1902, in Kilbourne. He preceded her in death on May 31, 1949.

Surviving are three sons, Orville “Red” and Elza, both of Havana and Lloyd of Canton; three daughters, Mrs. Clyde (Mildred) Palmer and Mrs. James (Addie) Cohee, both of Havana and Mrs. E. L. (Eula) Altig of Springfield; 21 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren and 15 great, great-grandchildren.

One daughter, three sisters, three brothers, one granddaughter, three grandsons and three great-grandsons preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana. Burial was in the Kilbourne Cemetery.
